Sori Yanagi Was A Renowned Japanese Designer Who Was Born In Tokyo In 1915. His Father, Soetsu Yanagi, Was An Influential Figure In The Folk Art Movement In Japan And Was Instrumental In Creating The Nihon Mingeikan, The Folk Crafts Museum Of Japan.
Sori Studied Both Art And Architecture At Tokyo Art School In The 1930S And Went On To Become A Celebrated Designer. His Works Include Furniture, Three-Wheeled Vehicles, Olympic Cauldrons, And Pedestrian Overpasses. He Is Best Known For His Butterfly Chair, Designed In 1954, And His Porcelain And Silverware Series.
